The Green Koala

On April 30, 2009, The Green Koala was created by a member by the name of ZanNight. It quickly became RPA’s official bar, attracting new and old members alike (and the occasional “guest”). In less than three months, the bar gained over 12,000 views and over 3,000 replies. “(What I like most about The Green Koala would be) The chattery, liviliness of the people. The other stuff is just a bonus,” said UrbanSwordsman.

The bar however, was created rather late in the game. With the RPA forum awards fast approaching, speculation was made as to whether or not the bar would make it to the voting round of “Best Thread.” The GK was nominated, as expected, and when placed in the voting poll, everyone made sure to vote. The Green Koala pulled through and triumphed over other threads—some that even had much more renown. On July 3,2009 ZanNight received his “Best Thread” banner and proudly placed it in not only his signature, but the first thread in the bar.

Since the bar has won its much deserved award, it seems to have attracted more members, and inspired theme nights. On July 13,2009 The Green Koala will host its first ever “Underwear party,” inspired by talk of undies in the bar one evening. The following Tuesday, July 14, 2009, the bar will host the first of its weekly “Couples Night.” Banners for these two events were created by Zelda and provided a fantastic way to advertise these events. Talk of a “Ladies’ Night” seems to be in The Green Koala’s future, so bust out that slinky dress ladies, and make your way over to the Green Koala.

The RPA Forum Awards 2009

Now that summer has started, many members have shown interest in the second annual RPA Forum Awards. The awards give members a chance to nominate whoever they feel would best fit a specific subject, like “Sexiest Member.” This year, unlike last year, there were 25 categories, and only one winner. This made the awards more competitive. To make it fair, however, each member was limited to winning only one award, so those who had already won, were not qualified to participate in the last event: Best Friends.

“(The best part of the RPA Forum Awards was)Probably getting to see what others thought of me and everyone! I loved that everyone found me random, and that people actually knew I existed here! :D So I guess my favorite part was having people know I was here and knew what I was like,” said ashes, “Most Random Member” winner.

Member-made banners were given as awards for the winners to put in their signature. Bragging rights were most definitely apart of the package. The banners were split three ways between Frogg, Necella and Rippuvan. It was great to see the diversity in the different artistic styles.

Overall, this year’s awards were a great and fulfilling experience. The members and staff alike were excited to see the results. Hopefully throughout the next year we’ll find a new generation of members, and winners!!

Summer Madness at RPA!

Now that summer's starting off, RPA is gearing up for more Roleplays, new members, and new excitment! But where's all the action? We put together a little list of stuff to do to get your summer pumping:

Art Threads - The past month, we've seen a recent uprising in the number of art threads by members to show off their artistical talents. Where's yours? If you have some masterpieces laying around in the depths of your computer, or around the house, join the fad and post it in the Creative Forum.

New Roleplays - Well duh. The whole point of RPA is roleplaying. Now that the summer months are approaching, we can expect a whole new rush of RP's to surface in the Roleplay Section. So give it a look. Knowing our members, they're sure to be creative, fun, entertaining, and worthy of your time.

The Green Koala - Started back in April, RPA's first and official bar made it's way into the Downtown Section. Door always open to new people, The Green Koala is a great place to talk about your problems over a cold one, hang out with RPA's members, and great place to pick up chicks. The awesome staff will guide you through your drink selection, while making sure the Bar stays fun and fresh. But do you have what it takes to get on the coveted "Valued Customers" list? We think you do...

Online Role Playing Games Challenge on Role Play Adventures Forum.

If you've never checked out the Battle Arena before now is your chance! The activity level has really picked up these last few days, with a tournament in the works and various other one on one battles! With wild, wondrous, and just plain awesome characters in the mix, are you up to it? Would you like to meet them? It's easy to do!

First thing's first, you're going to need a charrie if you don't already have them. The Character Creation Guide should be your first stop. Once there, you can use the template to start your own thread and post all of your battlers there for us to see.

Getting into a fight is real easy as well. Simply go to the Roleplay Challenge Thread fill out the form and post. Someone's sure to take you up on a fight! From there on, all you have to do is post your fight thread and get it started! Also, while you're battling, you can check out Battle Music playlist. And if you're worried about drama and think you'll need a judge, simply Request a judge!

So, what are you waiting for? Battling is also a great chance to interact and roleplay with folks you have perhaps never roleplayed with before! Intimidated? Don't be, for we all have to start somewhere. Hope to see you on the battlegrounds!

The Dark Prince - New Fantasy Roleplay.

Welcome to a world that exist parallel to our own. A dark medieval world where the strongest survive by proving their worth with blades. In this world a evil prince has taken over the continent by ruthlessly murdering his entire family with the exception of the princess. The only way she could escape the madness of her brother was by casting herself into our world. Ten long years pass and now the prince has discovered her location. How will it all end?

Psycho Kids with Guns - A science fiction Roleplay

In the pursuit of science the United States government discovered a possible vaccine that could grant the user eternal youth. After gathering ten willing and prepared test subjects, the experiment met with disastrous and unfortunate results. Instead of granting eternal life the patients have reverted backward into a mere child between eight and fifteen years old. What is even more troubling is all the subjects suffered mental trauma, becoming homicidal and violent. The scientist have tried to contain these failed experiments to a holding cell, but they have escaped and now the whole world is their playground.

The Haunted - A dark fantasy roleplay

While enjoying a vacation on a luxury ship in mid September, a calm and peaceful night is met with a disastrous and horrifying accident. Something breached the ship's haul and it was starting to sink fast. You are escorted safely to a safe boat with some of the other young tourist, hours pass by and you start to wonder if help is ever going to arrive. More time has went by and now it has become obvious help isn't going to come. Everything seems hopeless until you were carried by the currents into what seemed like an island.

RPA TCG IN THE WORKS!

With a new thread posted by our very own stilted, many members are discussing a possible RPA Trading Card Game. The discussion is currently focusing on game mechanics, and it's possible to see some RPA theme'd cards in the near future.

Popular Trading Card Games such as Yu-gi-oh, Zatch Bell, Naruto, Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering and other's might contribute game mechanics and serve as inspiration for the new card game as discussed in the thread. Who knows, you might be lucky enough to get the legendary "Gabriel Zero" card.
